Aging Worker Initiative Services Now Available in West The Aging Worker Initiative (AWI) is an innovative approach to expand services for seasoned workers (55 years +) in the West Central Indiana workforce region. The program is funded for three years by the Department of Labor through a competitive grant process as part of the High Growth Job Training Initiative. Tecumseh Area Partnership, Inc. received one of ten grants awarded across the to develop and provide these services. The funded project is intended to address the workforce challenges facing mature workers in areas of talent development, training, employment and job retention. Efforts are focused on connecting older workers to jobs in high growth, high demand industries critical to the regional economy. The two specific purposes of the regional initiative are to match qualified older workers with good paying jobs and increase the value employers place on experienced older workers.
