New Intern Program is Cost Effective for Regional Employers

Through the Aging Worker Initiative (AWI), regional employers have a new no-cost opportunity to utilize seasoned interns who are screened and matched to their specific needs. An internship period may extend from one to six months.

Employers participating in the AWI internship program often find:

  • the program to be a cost effective recruiting, screening and training program for qualified employees
  • an intern can create freedom for other staff to pursue projects that are demanding their attention 
  • they often bring new perspectives to existing problems 
  • organizational image in the community is enhanced through contribution of company expertise to vocational/workforce development 

Interns are available to employers in the following West Central Indiana counties: Benton, Cass, Carroll, Clinton, Fountain, Howard, Miami, Montgomery, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Warren and White.
